Sorry if this is the wrong section:

I have tried to download (several times) the ACARS manual and the CRJ-Ops manual, both of which wont open with Acrobat. I get the message that the PDF is damaged and cant be repaired.
I posted a message re: the ACARS manual in the ACARS forum, but as I can't downlaod the CRJ manual either I think there maybe more files damaged. Either that or my PC is on the fritz, but i have opened a PDF from VATSIM as I type this message.

it might have been either an internet connection problem or a software problem that damaged the file on its way from the server to the recipient. some download managers get confused from time to time and "forget" to download parts of a file thus rendering it unusable... from what i know if it were a version issue with Acrobat, it would say a newer version is needed to open the file, not that the file is damaged...

It happens to me as well from time to time. Just clear the cache in your browser and it usually resolves the problem.

I dont know what it was, and I did try downloading each 3 times (everyone know the 3rd time lucky addorage) and it was at that point I cried wolf.

I have them now anyway; I have read and digested, understanding is the next hurdle.... :-)

found this link in the FAQ and thought it would make some "bedtime reading", alas no, the link is dead, file doesn't exist.

Maybe a typo in the link or maybe the file was deleted or not uploaded. I would be keen to read this if it is still available.

That's actually a manual for use with the Flight Academy at DVA, which we're not using right now. If you need a copy of the FA manuals, I'd recommend contacting Jim Warner; he's head of the Flight Academy. You don't need this one right now solely for AFVA ops.
