I received this from the UK VATSIM site this morning:

2. [ATC Callsign Identifiers]

The use of V as a voice identifier in ATC callsigns is gradually being phased out across Europe. To harmonise ourselves with the rest of the Europe Region the use of V in UK ATC callsigns will cease forthwith. Controllers are to ensure that if they are using voice for ATC communication they set up their voice channel correctly and reflect this in their ATIS settings within ASRC.

Examples would be;

Old; EGCC_V_TWR New; EGCC_TWR
Old; EGSS_V_GND New; EGSS_GND

Callsigns that do not use V such as EGCC_S_APP, EGLL_N_APP, LON_NW_CTR and ESSEX_APP remain unaffected.

Text only controllers should use the same callsign and should reflect text only in their ATIS. Controllers who are not voice rated are reminded that there is nothing preventing them using a voice room whilst controlling for RECEIVE only. Your ATIS message should reflect that you are voice receive only.
