This is open to any of the Senior Staff at Air France Virtual,

While I know Air France is still probably 2 - 3 years from having their first A380 delivered, I wanted to bring up the idea of a A380 program. While reading forums, I have noticed a lot of pilots from other airlines expressing interest in the A380 and flying it, pilots at airlines that will never operate an A380. Air France Vritual may be able to benefit from this. Being an airline that will fly the A380, I think it may be beneficial to start thinking of setting up the A380 program. I feel it may be better to set one up earlier, rather than when Air France actually receives them. This way it would give the CP a chance to make up an exam, a check ride, and other stuff needed. Basically have the program established and ready to receive pilots. I'm just throwing some ideas up into the air.

That's a great idea but correct me if I am wrong; I have not seen any A380 freeware / payware out in the market. I honestly do not know how the A380 responds to flight inputs. It may be the combination of 747-400 + 340-600 but it needs to be checked out.

There are A380 payware models out there. The best I know of in terms of the panel is the Wilco, Overland also produces an A380 but the only good part is the model. I own the Wilco and think it's in better words, the best out there right now.

Michael and I discussed this at length a while ago. We both agreed we would eventually bring an A380 Program on line. The aircraft is still very new, there is no real flight data available, and as you have said the freeware and payware models have yet to be proven.

I agree there is a considerable amount of interest in this aircraft at present and Air France will be receiving this aircraft, but Delta will not, but I presume we will code share it as we do many of our aircraft. I also assume AFV will monitor the A380 Program.

I would like to have any interested Pilot start looking at models and current available information and report back to Michael and I with what is exactly out there right now.

Franz

How about a B707 program? Not sure if that's been discussed or not but it would be interesting if there was enough demand to justify it.
